Blood Pressure ChartBelow is a blood pressure chart indicating the ranges of abnormal and normal blood pressure readings. ![]() The ranges in the chart apply to most adults over 18 years of age who don't have short-term serious illnesses. If your systolic and diastolic numbers are not in the same blood pressure chart category, the more severe category is the one you're in. For example, if your systolic blood pressure number is 160 and your diastolic number is 80, you have stage 2 high blood pressure (HBP). If your systolic blood pressure number is 120 and your diastolic number is 95, you have stage 1 HBP. For those who have diabetes and/or chronic kidney disease, HBP is 130/80 mmHg or higher. High blood pressure numbers are also different for children and teens. Coarctation of the aorta is a rare hereditary disorder that is one of the most common causes of hypertension in children.
