Correcting Colon ProblemsColon problems are becoming almost epidemic in North America and the majority of doctor visits in North America are due to some sort of digestive problem. In 1985, between 60 and 70 million Americans were affected by digestive disorders and today it's close to 100 million. What type of disorders? The following are so common, we all know people that have one of the following: 1. Constipation 2. Diverticular disease (herniations of the colon) 3. Hemorrhoids 4. Irritable Bowel Syndrome 5. Ulcerative Colitis 6. Crohn's Disease 7. Cancer of the colon The Connection Between Diet & DiseaseMore and more doctors are realizing there is a direct connection between diet and the health of the human digestive system, and in this case, colon problems. Of course, other organs are involved also, but the human digestive system is the place where poor diet begins the first steps to problems that may also be reflected in other parts of the body as well as the digestive system. One example of this is skin problems. Your skin is actually the largest elimination organ of your body and a skin rash can sometimes be an example of your body trying to get rid of something that is toxic, so it can appear as a blemish on the skin. The way to correct the problem is eliminating the cause, which could be diet, instead of using makeup to cover the blemishes and not changing anything else. Our modern lifestyle has taken its toll on our digestive and elimination organs. Refined, processed, low fiber foods loaded with chemicals and preservatives, animal fats and refined vegetable oils which have almost no nutritive value and add to this a lack of exercise and it's a recipe for disaster. No Cancer Epidemic 100 Years AgoOne hundred years ago, colon cancer was virtually unknown and now, this year alone, 130,000 Americans will be diagnosed with it, and close to 60,000 will die from it. Colorectal cancer is the leading cancer among men and women combined, and even children are now dying from it in ever increasing numbers. This is just cancer of the colon, but the numbers for all other colon problems in total is staggering and anyone who thinks our modern lifestyle has nothing to do with it, must be viewing things from the top of mount Everest. All these problems came along with the so called modern lifestyle - the more refined, processed foods that were eaten, the more diseases that manifested. Just a change to a healthy diet would cut these disease statistics in less than half and combined with regular use of a good colon cleansing system would likely cut the chance of colon problems down to less than 5% of current levels. Most people have absolutely no idea what they are doing - "it tastes good so I'll eat it" is the logic behind it. You are what you eat and every cell in your body can only be as healthy as the food you feed it. So, feed your cells junk and guess what happens.
The picture shows an actual x-ray of a person's colon. Due to poor diet you can see the irregular shape - places where it is slightly bulged and others where it is constricted. This is due to poor diet and in such a case, the body is slowly being poisoned. Even if the person in the x-ray does not have cancer, you can bet they are not a model of health and probably have some problems. This type of colon is not unusal among people in industrialized countries where diets have changed much more dramatically in the last 50 years than any other time in history.
The other picture shows what a colon would look like in a person who eats a healthy diet. It is extremely unlikely that a person with such a healthy colon would ever develop any kind of colon problems or any other kind of degenerative disease. People who develop serious disease usually do not have a very healthy digestive system even if the major problems they have are not thought of as colon problems. For example, diabetes begins with poor diet - the constant high blood sugar level that results in diabetes is caused by a digestive system that can no longer cope with the refined, processed foods that demand a high level of insulin to try and keep blood sugar levels under control. After constantly high insulin production, the pancreas gets tired and quits and diabetes is the result. This is just an example of diet affecting organs but not resulting in colon problems. Of course difference in diet can result in different diseases but genetics also plays a part. Two people with an identical junk food diet could develop very different problems due to genetics. The bottom line is that if you have colon problems, no matter what they are - be open minded enough to realize that diet can be a major factor in your colon health. Our digestive system usually gets more abuse than the rest of our bodies since it is the first in line to process the inorganic, overprocessed foods laced with chemicals and preservatives. The human body evolved for thousands of years eating an organic and mostly raw diet and that's why most disease is a product of this thing called civilization.
